WHAT WAS CLAIMED
Adam Gilchrist posted about a deadly attack in India.
OUR VERDICT
False. The account behind the post is not Adam Gilchrist's.
AAP FACTCHECK - Former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist has not weighed into India-Pakistan relations by commenting on a recent deadly explosion in Delhi, despite claims on social media.
Accounts that appear to impersonate him are not linked to Gilchrist and there is no evidence he has spoken about the attack near the Indian capital's historic Red Fort.
At least 10 people were killed and more than 30 were injured in the attack and Indian authorities have named a Kashmiri man as the attacker.
Two posts about the bombing are being passed off as being by 54-year-old Gilchrist, who is now a cricket commentator.
"The moment I started speaking about Hindus and condemned the terrorist attack at #RedFort Delhi. Many people unfollowed me and started abusing me in my DMs," the first post reads.
"But it won't affect me, I'll always speak the truth."

The second received more than 1.5 million views on X and reads: "Over 2000 people unfollowed me when I condemned the terrorist attack at #RedFort Delhi.
"I received various threats from a lot of people, but that didn't even shake my 1% of confidence. I will always speak about the truth and humanity."
The posts originated on an X account named "Adam Gilchriist" .
The user seems to be portraying themselves as the former wicketkeeper. In one post, accompanying an image of Gilchrist and Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma, the caption reads: "This reminded me when we first met each other in 2008…it's been a pleasure to play against and with you".
The posts relating to the Delhi blast have also been replicated on a Facebook account, seeming to also pose as Gilchrist.

The account, set up on October 31, 2025, was originally titled "Adam Girlchrist" before being changed the following day to correct the spelling error.
Many viewers of the posts have clearly been fooled.
"More power to you Adam! We stand with the Truth!" one user posted.
"Gilli. You are equally fearless on and off the field," another said.
The post has even been reported as being genuine by the India-based Delhi Magazine
AAP FactCheck contacted Gilchrist's representatives but did not receive a response.
There is no record of the post on Gilchrist's official social media profiles, including on X or Instagram.
